Empty Nest
Last time I was surprised by how quickly fledged were the English sparrows we had discovered nesting in a rather forgotten and dilapidated birdhouse affixed to the garage. This time around, when a pair of house finches chose a corner of our front porch as the site of their nest, I was determined to photograph the newly-hatched chicks. Within a day or two of having taken this picture, the chicks had fledged, leaving behind an empty nest.
