You are a thing of beauty and power,
And there is nothing to pity in one so alive,
For even at Death's threshold, your eyes are bright.
The predatory beauty in those eyes
Arrests my own and I am exposed,
Laid bare as before Judgement,
And my soul meets yours -- brilliant, defiant.
I will never taste the freedom that defines your life.
You need not the pity of those who spend their lives
Tethered to the hard earth.
You will not be remembered in ignorance.
